Durham, NC — In my four terms as a State Legislator, I have never accepted a single dime from Corporate PACs– which includes Duke Energy, Dominion Energy, Enbridge, or their Political Action Committees (PACs) and lobbyists. I am elected by the people of Durham, and therefore I work for the people of Durham. 

A system of accountability and transparency is necessary in North Carolina– especially under an energy monopoly. Removing corporate interests and dark money from politics makes us better representatives for our constituents. Our environment, our climate, and our democracy are not for sale.

**Note: Rep. Morey is also one of the co-sponsors of the North Carolina Consumer Protection Act, which aims to protect ratepayers from being charged for Duke Energy’s political influence spending.
